What Is Percentage Increase?
Percentage increase tells you how much a value has increased compared with its original value. It is useful for comparing prices, salaries, sales, marks, website traffic and other numerical changes.
Percentage Increase Formula
To calculate percentage increase, subtract the original value from the new value, divide the difference by the original value, and multiply by 100.
((New Value − Original Value) ÷ Original Value) × 100
Example of Percentage Increase
If the original value is 100 and the new value is 150, the difference is 50.
